Vice President, Development

Muammar Hermanstyne joined Conifer in 2022 and currently serves as Vice President, Development. In this role, Muammar primarily works on the upstate New York and New England regions. With the New England region specifically, Muammar is working to expand Conifer’s footprint into Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.

Muammar brings a wealth of real estate knowledge to his role. Prior to joining Conifer, he most recently served as Development Manager at Dakota Partners, a Massachusetts-based multifamily housing organization. During his tenure, Muammar worked on multiple housing development projects, consisting of 366 units and totaling nearly $150 million in development costs.

Before his role at Dakota Partners, Muammar worked as a Real Estate Consultant at Community Roots Housing (formerly known as Capitol Hill Housing). This venture afforded him the opportunity to work on the Africatown Plaza project in Seattle, WA – a joint venture between Africatown Community Land Trust, a new CDC start-up, and Community Roots Housing intended to address homelessness within the City of Seattle. Simultaneously throughout this process, he was also working with Community Roots Housing on a HUD Section 8 recapitalization Strategy. Over the course of his 20+ year career, Muammar has held additional positions with Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corporation, the City of Boston, National Investments Ltd, The Community Builders, INC., and others.

Muammar has his M.U.P. in Urban Planning and Real Estate Development from New York University and completed a post-graduate fellowship in Real Estate Development at the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Urban Redevelopment Excellence (CUREx). He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and enjoys giving back to his local community with his family through volunteer work.
