Vice President, Development

Curtis Adams joined Conifer in 2023 and currently serves as Vice President of Development. In this role, Curtis is responsible for identifying and creating new multifamily real estate development opportunities, as well as the creation and preservation of affordable housing in Maryland, Virginia, and the Washington, D.C. area. As a skilled leader, Curtis guides the profitable implementation and execution of real estate projects with direct oversight from conceptual identification, through funding, construction, and closing.

Curtis brings 20 years of experience spanning multifamily affordable and commercial real estate development and transactions. His project history involves both new construction and rehabilitations, including urban infill and master site projects. He has closed and completed affordable housing projects in Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware, including 9%, 4%, and RAD Deals.

Prior to joining Conifer, Curtis worked in Acquisitions and Development for Rutter’s, a retail business, throughout Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic . A former Vice President at The Michaels Organization, he has also held relevant roles at Forest City Realty Trust (now Brookfield Properties), and AHC, Inc., all of which have aided in his industry knowledge.

Curtis holds a B.S. in Business Administration from American University in Washington, DC., and an Master of City Planning (M.C.P) from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of Lambdra Alpha International (LAI), is a board member of, and local services volunteer with, the Grace United Methodist Church in Baltimore.
