Regional Vice President, Property Management
Betty Perry joined Conifer in 2017 as Regional Vice President, Property Management. She is responsible for overseeing 60 apartment communities, representing 4,528 units throughout Long Island, New York, and New Jersey.
Betty brings a wealth of affordable housing knowledge and experience to her role. Prior to joining Conifer, Betty was a 25-year veteran of Related Management Company, where she supervised 7000+ units throughout New York State.
Betty successfully launched, in partnership with Hudson Companies, a mixed-use complex in East New York, consisting of more than 800 brand-new affordable apartments and commercial/retail establishments, transforming an underutilized area. She also successfully restored, within 21 days, a 600-unit high-rise affordable community in Far Rockaway that suffered flooding and damage during Superstorm Sandy. This allowed displaced residents to return to their homes far sooner than those in neighboring communities. Additionally, she has worked in close partnership with municipalities, public safety agencies, and not-for-profit organizations to implement neighborhood watch programs and safe haven youth centers in some of New York’s most problematic neighborhoods in New York City, Long Island, Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse.
Betty has a B.S. from Empire State College and earned her Certified Property Manager (CPM) from the Institute of Real Estate Management. She is a member of the National Apartment Association (NAA), TaCCs Low Income Housing Tax Credit Certified, and a gold member of the National Property Management Association (NPMA). Betty is an NYS licensed real estate salesperson and remains an active member of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). She has worked with Chapter 26 Leadership in the past to bring more attention and solutions to the affordable housing crisis and to ensure the industry is well represented in IREM political efforts and communications.
