ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The city, New York State, and Conifer Reality are working together to turn the Southeast Towers in Rochester into affordable housing for 376 families.
They broke ground on the $118 million rehabilitation project Tuesday.
“It’s very very important to make sure that everyone is a part of the very fabric that is Rochester and we want them to know that no matter who you are, no matter where you live, no matter your income, it’s very important to us and we’re going to provide opportunities to have safe affordable housing,” Mayor Lovely Warren said.
The Southeast Towers project is part of Governor Cuomo’s $1 billion House New York initiative to rehabilitate 36 aging affordable housing buildings.
