“(July 1, 2015) – The Camden County Improvement Authority (CCIA) and Conifer Real Estate Development and Management Company celebrated the opening and operation of Riverfront Village, a 75-unit community in Pennsauken Township. The energy efficient affordable housing development will feature 1, 2 and 3 bedroom townhomes. Five of the units are set aside for honorably discharged veterans who are transitioning into permanent living opportunities.

“This is a great example of what can happen when the County and local government, along with the private sector, come together to fill the need for quality housing in Pennsauken Township,” said Camden County Freeholder Michelle Gentek. “This project is a great example of revitalizing a long shuttered parcel that was an eye sore for decades on River Road. This new housing is a building block for further transformation along this corridor of Pennsauken and Camden County.”

The green building practices employed at Riverfront Village promote resource conservation, consider environmental impacts, and create a healthy and comfortable environment.

Among the many green features of the project are:  high efficiency heating and cooling systems, durable healthy flooring materials, Energy Star rated appliances and light fixtures, and water saving plumbing fixtures. Another sustainable feature is access to public transportation. The development is within a short walk (1/10 of a mile) to New Jersey Transit’s River Line.

The handicap accessible community also features a clubhouse with exercise room, computer lab and laundry facilities.”
