Developers, public officials and lenders cut the ribbon today on 42 units of brand new, affordable housing in the historic Market Neighborhood in Rochester.

Sitting vacant for over a decade, the former Corpus Christi School has been preserved and redeveloped into the Market Apartments at Corpus Christi. The apartment community has been transformed into a collaborative live/work environment for artists, offering space to create, collaborate and live. The spacious one and two bedroom apartment homes feature fully equipped kitchens with Energy Star rated appliances and fixtures, a community room with computer lab and fitness room, a smart card laundry center, as well as a detached art studio for the residents to practice their mediums.

“Having a place like this is incredible for an artist, we have a place to create, collaborate and live,” said Guy Throne, a resident at Market Apartments who is an Artistic Director-Media-Choreographer at FuturPointe Dance Inc.
