Conifer Takes on Corporate Challenge

On Tuesday, May 26th, #TeamConifer braved the unseasonably high heat to take on the 25th running of the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge. With 10,371 participants representing 421 local companies, the 3.5 mile race is the largest running event in Rochester.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Rochester was this year’s beneficiary. For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters believes in the ability for children to thrive and succeed. Developing positive relationships between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), the organization enables positive, meaningful mentoring that contributes to brighter futures, better schools and stronger communities for all.

Teammates from all of the departments in Conifer’s Rochester Resource Center and local community managers made up this year’s dynamic squad. Dressed in team gear and smiles affixed, the group rallied at the company tent to exchange high fives and pep talks. “We then set off toward the start corral to face conditions more like a Rain Forest than Rochester, NY”, stated Mark Benotti, Director of Risk Management and this year’s Conifer Team Captain. “The exhaustion felt at the finish line was quickly swept away by the euphoria of personal achievement and team camaraderie. Working hard and having fun along with contributing to such a great organization made the whole experience so memorable.”

The Conifer Team is extremely happy to be involved in such a great experience that benefits children in our community while also presenting an opportunity to spend time with our work family.
