(Rochester, NY – May 26, 2022) Conifer Realty, a nationally-recognized industry leader in the investment, development, and management of high-quality affordable housing, proudly announces two promotions to the strategic leadership team.
Sam Leone has been promoted to President where he is responsible for the company’s strategic direction, culture, growth, overall management of the company, and overseeing strategic growth opportunities, including new development, strategic partnerships, and investment. As President, Sam will also lead the Conifer Executive Leadership Team. This group is responsible for developing and spearheading Conifer’s strategic plan and associated initiatives while cultivating a collaborative culture that encourages leaders to rise at every level of the company.
Sam joined Conifer in 2007 and most recently served as EVP, Development. Throughout his 15-year tenure at Conifer, Sam has overseen more than 60 new developments, comprised of 5,000+ homes across four states. He has tirelessly promoted a collaborative and integrative approach to Affordable Housing, ensuring that all facets of Development, Construction, Ownership, and Management are optimized for success. Sam was honored by his peers in 2008 with the Conifer Outstanding Achievement Award.
Barb Ross has been promoted to Chief Administrative Officer. In this role, she partners with Conifer’s President and Executive Leadership Team, developing and leading Conifer’s strategic plan and associated initiatives and creating a collaborative culture that encourages leaders to rise at every company level. Barb also provides executive oversight of the human capital/human resource strategy, focusing on employee recruitment, engagement, development, and retention.
Barb previously served as EVP, Human Resources and has a proven track record of leveraging talent management, employee engagement, and human resource operations to support optimal business goal outcomes. Before joining Conifer, she worked in high-growth and progressive companies strategically transformative in their respective industries. Such roles include Vice President of Human Resources at Monro Inc., Vice President of Human Resources at Chobani, and a variety of HR positions at Constellation Brands, Inc. Barb has also served as Director of Human Resources at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).

Bill Ledbetter joins Conifer as Senior Vice President, Information Technology. In this role, Bill develops the strategy, roadmap, and direct technology, as well as automation and innovation, for Conifer Realty at an enterprise level. He diligently serves as the key partner and advisor to Conifer’s senior leadership, department heads, and external customer base.
Bill brings extensive experience in Information Technology, having most recently served as the Senior Vice President, Enterprise Technology, at Univision Communications. There, he partnered with the business to lead both process transformation efforts and digital workflow enablement efforts across the enterprise, enabling next-generation architecture, global access to new technologies, and migration of services to the cloud.
Peter Wysocki joins Conifer as Vice President, Asset Management. In this role, Peter drives portfolio and asset profitability, NOI, and valuation growth. He develops multi-year strategic business plans for Conifer’s portfolio and ensures annual budgets are aligned with strategic portfolio objectives. Additionally, he contributes to the analysis of new investment opportunities, including market research, revenue forecasting, and financial analysis.
Peter brings 10 years of industry experience to his role. Prior to joining Conifer, he served as the Manager of Finance and Asset Management for Balfour Beatty Investments. While there, Peter oversaw portfolio operations across multiple asset types, including multifamily, student and military housing.
