This week Paul Marfione (Project Director, NY) presented at the Affordable Housing and Community Development Conference hosted by the NY Rural Housing Coalition.

The NY Rural Housing Coalition was founded 40 years ago and represents a large network of rural housing professionals. Paul was asked to participate on the “Making Multifamily Housing Work” panel along with Tia Baker (USDA RD), Martha Hanson (USDA RD), Edgar Morales (Bonneville Capital), and Jill Alcorn (Genesee Valley Rural Preservation Council). His presentation included obstacles and challenges he had to overcome when working on WNY Rural Preservation, along with some helpful suggestions for future developers.

Too often rural housing needs get overlooked and are often not reached by New York’s housing resources. Conifer is proud to have had three successful USDA RD deals and that Paul was able to share his knowledge and expertise on the process to other developers.
